José Jorge Martinez Bravo, MD, PhD candidate, has been awarded a dual competency program in gastrointestinal surgery and a PhD, meaning 50% research and 50% clinical work over 6 years. The grant is provided by Helse Nord, and Helgeland Hospital will be his main workplace. The University of Oslo, Akershus University Hospital, and Columbia University are providing infrastructure. Regular participation in multidisciplinary team meetings, operating rooms, and meetings with the research group is planned at these locations to ensure high quality and progress in the project.
